Coplin Knoll

Coplin Knoll rests in the mountains just North of Sugarloaf in the Mountains.  The views stretch into Canada.  The owner wanted a place to relax between mountain adventures and stay warm and cozy with his family.  He wanted the tradition and strength of timber framing with a slightly more modern feel.  The main section is completely open for kitchen, loft bedroom, woodstove and living area.  The north side section has a small wall to soundproof a bedroom and mudroom for the kids, the other section is a bathroom.  The whole downstairs in the basement is also finished for living area. 

The Frame is planed, sanded and oiled pine with white oak splines and red oak pegs. 

For this project we designed, cut, and raised the frame then boarded the roof and installed structural insulation panels.  The homeowner is finishing the rest himself and we look forward to seeing how it comes out.  Eventually they may occasionally offer this cabin for others to stay at for mountain vacations.
